Whether you’ve been at Gaining Ground from the beginning, you’ve come once or twice, or you’ve never been to anything we’ve done, this night is for you.

Gaining Ground is really simple. We want to help men grow. In our faith. In our marriages. As dads. As leaders. In our friendships. In our work. In the things nobody else sees.

Because every man has a next step. Every man has areas where he can get better. And we believe we get better when we get around other men who want the same thing.

Jim Burgen

Jim Burgen is the Lead Pastor of Flatirons Community Church in Colorado and has spent more than 40 years in ministry. Known for his raw, practical teaching and authentic leadership, Jim has a passion for helping men follow Jesus with courage, integrity, and purpose. He is also the founder of The Herd, a discipleship and leadership movement focused on equipping men to lead well in their homes, churches, and communities.

Gaining Ground is the men’s movement of Compass Church in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, created to help men grow in their faith, relationships, leadership, and purpose.

Through gatherings, groups, mentorship, events, and practical biblical teaching, Gaining Ground gives men a place to build real friendships, have honest conversations, and become the men God has called them to be.
