START A GROUP
Don't do life alone.
Most men don’t need another event. They need a few brothers who will help them keep moving forward. Gaining Ground Groups are built for that: simple, honest, consistent spaces where men talk about life, faith, leadership, marriage, fatherhood, discipline, and the next step God is calling them to take. You don’t have to be a Bible expert to lead one. You just have to be willing to show up, go first, and keep it honest.
THE DIFFERENCE
BUILT FOR MEN WHO DON'T NEED COMPLICATED.
Anytime, anywhere
Meet at a coffee shop, garage, office, golf course, or anywhere guys can show up. Morning, evening, weekends - you decide.
No Bible degree required
Being real is more important than having all the answers. We're not looking for Bible experts, just guys who can open the conversation.
Make it your own
No forced curriculum. No complicated schedule. Invite guys into what you’re already doing and grow from there.
Invite guys you know
No awkward circles. Start with 2–3 men you already know, like, and trust. Commit to grow with them.
Just start
Don't overthink it. Pick a time, choose a place, and take the first step.
FAQ'S
Yes. If you know 2–3 guys you like and want to grow with, you can lead a group. You don’t need to be perfect; you just need to be willing. “Practice these things… so that all may see your progress.”— 1 Timothy 4:15
Keep it simple. Talk about what you’re learning, ask real questions, and pray for each other.
That’s it. No complicated structure. Just intentional conversation.
Food and activity always helps.
We’ve found that every other week works best for guys’ schedules. Once a week feels like too much. Once a month is hard to build momentum.
You’re not the teacher. You’re the tone setter. Show up consistently, go first in honesty, keep the conversation focused, and make sure every guy has a chance to talk. Run the group chat & set the date and time.
The podcast is a great place to start. Ask a few simple questions: What stood out to you this week? Where are you winning? Where are you stuck? What’s one step you need to take?
Progress. Not perfection. Not information. Progress. It’s 1% better. We’re aiming for small, consistent steps forward spiritually, relationally, and personally.
We’re working on additional resources and ministry partners to help you lead effectively. You don’t need to swim alone. We’ll equip you with everything you need.
